A huge THANK YOU!!!

Sometimes God can seem so silent, you know He is there, but there is no comfort.  It seems to be exactly at these times, when I feel like I can't go on any more, that He sends some message of love.

The last day and night have been so difficult because all Dominic does is cry (the neurologist came just came in and mentioned that the anti-seizure medicine can also cause irritability, he has to be on this medication for at least a couple of months), it has made me feel so worn down and wondering when God would help.  Well, after my post this morning my husband told me to look at my e-mails and well, God again, is letting me know He is there, He cares, He loves.  In my inbox was a gift of a video made by the dear people at home who love and support us.  They took the time to write a song and put it together to their singing and music.  Words cannot even begin to express how much this video means to us....  They practiced this song at a place so dear to my heart.  I have wanted to do a post about this place and I will sometime in the future when I can post my pictures of it with the post, but this place is called Schoenstatt.  We happen to live right by Schoenstatt and well, we are so grateful.  Schoenstatt means "beautiful place" and that it is with its 250 acres of rolling hills and gardens, but Schoenstatt is much more than that.  Schoenstatt is the beautiful place in your heart where you are changed, where you are molded into soldiers for Christ, where we invite Christ through our Lady into our home to reside.  They have a shrine there (there are 200 shrines around the country just like this one) where I have spent so much of my time getting ready for the birth of Dominic.  I love this place, I love the spirituality, I love what it has done for me personally and for my whole family, I am so grateful.  Since we left the Sisters put up a picture of Dominic in the shrine and the sisters and families that go there have been praying for him.

A group of the homeschoolers spent time at Schoenstatt putting together this song and video for Dominic and our family, again, DO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE BEEN GODS MESSAGE OF LOVE TO ME TODAY!!!!  Thank you Erin Berghouse for the words of this song, thank you to the Hinca family for putting together the video and all of the families for getting together to sing this and record it, thank you Schoenstatt sisters for taking such care of our family always! Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!

Lyrics to the song:

Dominic Pio

How could a little boy so small
Come to teach us all
The things we've learned but seldom seen

You bring us to a place and teach
Where our faith casts unto the deep
To see every soul sanctify

chorus
Dominic Pio
Our little hero
You have opened all our eyes

Dominic Pio
Our miracle
You live and breath life divine

We see the sacrifice and pain
Also the love that suffering gains
As you have carried this cross

We stand beside you in prayer
We lift our hearts to carry us where
The journey leads and joins us all

Chorus

And in those weak moments when you fell you can't go on
Just close your eyes and ponder Blessed Mary and her Son and know...you know...God

You are the fighter in this fight
With God and angels on your side
You are the one to lead us all

You are a precious little gift
Unwrapped within this world we live
Your voice sings ALLELUIA

Chorus

  3. Dear Mary and Mark,

I don't know you, but I've been following your blog. I first heard your story on one of the Catholic homeschooling Yahoo groups to which I belong. I just wanted to say that you and your family are an inspiration to me and mine. You have such strong faith in God. I wish I had half the faith that you have. I have been praying for Dominic and for the rest of the family and I've asked others to pray as well. I hope you have a safe trip home.

    God bless!
    Sue

  4. Still praying you home. I am going to visit Schoenstatt sometime this year, based upon your recommendation. Remember that through this trial, you and Dominic are leading people into a deeper prayer life with God just like this song.
Blessings to you, Mark, and all your children.

  5. My kids keep asking to watch the video with the song about Dominic... then we pray for him. My kids are 3 and 1, so I am sure God cannot help but drop everything and listen to their prayers!!
