Here are a couple of pictures from the last couple of days. I am working very hard at getting everything squared away to be able to come home. I am hoping we might be able to come home this weekend, if not then at the beginning of next week, but there is a whole lot that needs to be done before we can go. Posting will be slim the rest of the week, lets just say no news is good news for this week! We will hopefully be able to leave if nothing extreme happens or no surprises like a new infection or issues with his DI. Can you pray us home? Hopefully you will not hear from me too much this week, so until I post again, Blessings and Thank you!!!!
Some stuffed animals he received and his new special blanket
He loves his moose!
I don't think we can have too many smiley pictures can we?
His sore is healing nicely
Evidence of his eating egg yolk, he loves it mixed with yogurt. Just yesterday he gained 8oz!!!! It was the first day he ate the egg mixture. Kudos to the hospital for approving that in place of the protein powder!
Really blurry picture of his stroller ride, but here is the proof of his happy feet kicking. He kicks almost the whole time, he loves to move!

I would be able to pray you home and that your whole family can sleep and live under one roof.
ReplyDeleteI know how much you waited to see Dominic's smile. Yay! Yay!
Hip, hip, hooray!
And I see he's in real clothes again.
I'm glad that egg yolk is working out.
He looks like he's ready to get back into the business of playing.
Praise God! Love his smile. This may sound odd seeing how we don't know each other but if you need a place to stay on your travels home we live in the South Bend, IN. You are most welcomed. We don't have enough beds to accommodate everyone but I hear our basement carpet is quite cushy! Continued prayers for a quick exit home.

Such great great great news! We're so so happy over here for you! My husband was praying for you all in Adoration this morning at 4am. You will continue in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lena, it's nice to see Dominic in regular clothes--makes him look like he really is going home! And you can never have too many of those smiles! So glad to see him kicking and ready to leave! I bet the nurses will miss him, but it must be nice for them to see someone go home healthy (for the most part!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm also happy that the nurses/doctors were able to also learn something new in place of protein powder--avocado, yogurt and eggs! Old School stuff, right?
Very happy to see Dominic doing so well, will keep you all in prayers.
Beautiful boy! (p.s. my not-quite-two year old just looked over my shoulder saying "baby, baby!", and when I told him the baby had an owie he gave the picture on the screen two kisses)
ReplyDeletePrecious! Deo gratias!
ReplyDeletePraise God! What beautiful pictures. Praying for you to be able to go home with the little guy!
ReplyDeleteHe looks fantastic!!! I hope that you will be able to return home this weekend and will continue to pray for you. Happy New Years!!!

Thank you for posting these pictures - it's incredible to see him so happy after knowing how much he has suffered. I recently watched his youtube video and I love the picture of him at minute 2:59, where he looks just like his siblings! You are all in our prayers for a speedy exit and a safe trip home.
ReplyDeleteHe just looks beautiful! The doctors did a wonderful job on his lip and his little nose!! My friend Father Constantine Belisarius (who works at Seton Home Study School)offered the Divine Liturgy for Dominic on Friday. He also put Dominic on the prayer chain at Seton. We are so happy that Dominic is recovering and that you will be home sometime soon!! Many prayers continue for you all!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Dominic is looking so good!!!! Isn't it fun to put normal clothes on him? I always hate the hospital clothes...looks like you were also able to clean his little face, I always want to do that too...SO, give me this yogurt/egg yolk recipe for Simeon...soft cooked?
ReplyDeleteSimeon had the itchies after his morphine this last time...of course they wanted to give him something to take away the itchies...but I said that was enough, I knew it would go away shortly. Sometimes enough is enough.
Gosh, getting out of the room, walking with him, has to brighten your spirits so much!!
So happy, but still praying him home!!
Pre and post surgery that is one cute baby!! So great to see his smile. We are so glad that everything seems to be headed in the right direction.
ReplyDeletePraying for all of you to be able to go home soon.
Thank you for the update.
Praise God! Praise God!
ReplyDeleteI am a former roomie of your sis-in-law Susan. My mom in Pa has been praying fervently for little Dominic Pio, as have I. His story is so wonderful! I love these pix! He looks like a little boy again, not a sick little patient. Continued prayers that all continues to go well and he gets stronger and healthier! Also, many prayers for you and your family, for peace of mind and strength!
ReplyDeleteLove, love love it!!!!! He is so cute! Thank you so much for the pictures. The kids were so happy to see him looking so good. We are praying you home soon!!!! God bless you both for a safe and speedy trip home.
ReplyDeleteHe is so beautiful! Praying he stays well, gets stronger, and you can take him home soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the egg yolk recipe too.
Fantastic news! Great pictures too! Prayers continue.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing some pictures of him at home! Still praying for you all!
ReplyDeleteyou're so close!! Hang in there Mary. God will release him when the time is best:-) try to imagine a year from now... all progress is fabulous. We'll pray for a smooth, easy transition for him. We'll keep praying for you that your well is filled. and then... we'll be ready with some good bone broth for you both when you get home!
ReplyDeleteThe answer is, "No." You cannot have too many smiling photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! Praying you HOME!!
